We have no way of knowing who the contract belongs to. I am not doing anything against the rules and I would hate for Jeffan to have to code different just to keep my company from bidding. There are others that fail also and they are not brought into this conversation.
We have this contract now:
Cereal to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
Cargo Weight (lbs): 160,000
Estimated Loads: 4
Deadline: 19-11-2012 at 10:29:57 AM
Penalty: $800.00 Won for $2.21 per mile
Cargo Left (lbs): 160,000
Estimated Loads: 4

We may get 1 out of 4.

IS IT YOURS

I think you just made Little Bears point..
That's blatantly just being a jerk and laughing in our face. You should be banned from the game IMO..

"What alterations (if any) to the subcontract system would give you the confidence to create subcontracts again? "

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Would it be possible that when EVERYONE bails on a company and leaves someone who coud not even startup a company in charge nor has the required drivers stated for the subcontract that all SUB CONTRACTS they have are reversed back to who subbed them out.

Most fail due to miscalculations or driver problems..

You fail because you have a company of 4 and end up with (for instance) 3 or 4 sub contracts of 25 loads apiece that are 2500 mile or longer runs each knowing that there is no way you could ever finish them.

It's more of a question of being a good player and trying to seriously play the game and not just be a thorn in everyone's side.

I'm not Jeff but I would think that a simple blacklist should be easy enough to implement. I imagine that it would work best as a general company setting that is applied to subcontracts rather than something you have to specify for each subcontract you create.

I think that idea might be a bit difficult to implement in an acceptable manner. I think what would be more useful would be if we tightened up the company handoff procedure so that:
  • VP has the same requirements as being CEO
  • The VP must accept their promotion to CEO before it goes through

This would stop someone just dumping a company on some newbie so that either they make more of an effort or they have to dissolve the company. If they choose the second option then we can record that and put in some sort of penalty for it. For instance we could have a time period after deleting a company that you cannot create a new one.

Norman

That sounds like what is needed to tighten up the company handover.

We have 2 subcontracts out right now that are in limbo , 1 the COMPANY vanished the other they all bailed and left it to a basic newcomer with no hope of completing it

RE: Subs fine
I like the idea that Little Bear and Norman are talking about. Give the company offering the sub the option to accept or deny certain companies from taking it. Or even have certain filters, like the company would have to have been in business for a certain amount of time or have a certain % of subs that they have successfully completed in the past.

RE: Subs fine
What about a bidding system for the sub contract!!! The main company puts the contract out there.say 10 loads of wood to Boise, you have 12 hours to place you bid, so a sub contractor puts in a bid saying they can do it for 2.45cpm and if there is more then 1 bid the main company can chose which sub contractor they wish to go with, it will give the main company a chance to check out the SC to see what there record is on completing contracts, and if they think they have enough drivers, also where there drivers are in the country, so page may look something along the lines below.

Matlee express are offering the following
10 loads of wood to Boise all bids must be in by 20th November 15.30
Current bids
Etc trucking 2.10cpm
Eta logistics 2.25cpm
Xmas freight 2.35cpm
