[split] Chat from Subcontractors List
Is the list even useful?
We cant control who takes a subcontracted load so what difference does the list make?

I thought the list was intended to give the companies creating the sub-contracts an idea of which sub-contractors are completing or not completing the sub-contracts they are running. Those companies could then contact the sub-contracting companies with good ratings and offer them sub-contracts.

Basically the list gives the sub-contracting companies a score. But that all depends on if the company creating the sub-contract puts up the effort to make a post when one of their sub-contracts is completed or not by a sub-contractor.

Wink RE: Subcontractors List
Trucking For Many Causes & Cures (TFMCC) is a reliable sub-contract hauler even though we only have 4 drivers and only 3 of the drivers are sure to be active... So we will only be able to haul small sub-contracts

RE: Subcontractors List
REALLY!?!?! reliable is doing 8 contracts out of 28 that is a 28% completion ratio that isn't reliable to me anything about 80% completion is reliable to me. I want someone that I know will get the work that I send there way to get done.

RE: Subcontractors List
I posted this in the suggestion area but I dont think it shows most recent posts at the top:

I have a suggestion that might help improve the sub contract system.
It would involve redesigning the the company bio page.
Where the contracts number is now we could move the money there....fits perfectly and becomes more prominent.
Where the money and items is it would now be labeled CONTRACTS with 4 boxes just like the collection and assistance above.
The 4 boxes would be labeled:
1. Current contracts (With the link currently being used)
2. Completed Contracts
3. Failed Contracts
4. Completion % (box 2 divided by the sum of box 2 and 3)

On the page where sub contracts are created we could add a minimum contract completion % similar to the min # of drivers.
The benefit would be that companies would strive to complete their contracts and be rewarded for doing so.
Companies that create sub contracts would be better protected because they can manage their risk.
If they set the acceptable completion % too high then they would find it more difficult to get their contracts subbed out.
If they set it too low they run a higher risk of the sub failing.
It would be up to each company to find their own acceptable level of risk.

RE: Subcontractors List
reliable is like 100% Smile our company (Tycoon Trucking Europe) is doing this percentage. Contracts are selected and completed properly long before deadline Smile.

We are looking for more sub-contracts because we are not as big as everyone.

PS. not everyone is posting there, that's a shame.

Using the contract completion percentage rate instead of an actual score a sub-contracting company would receive for completing contracts is a bad idea. The problem with a completion percentage rate is that a company with high numbers of completed contracts could suddenly run a muck and it would take many failed contracts before their rating might drop to an undesirable rate. My suggestion adjusted the score (like the score kept here on this thread, if updated) with each contact that was recently completed.

But yes I agree a box should be added to the sub-contract creation page where a selection can be made to limit what companies can take on the sub-contracts that are being created. What the perimeter is for determining who can and cannot take on a sub-contract needs to be determined, be it by a percentage or a score and a algorithm created to calculate those numbers. The list on this thread doesn't seem to be working. Thanks Mr. 18 for your dedication and the posts you have made for my company completing your subs, but without the list being updated it is really pointless. The game should automatically be keeping track of this. Just like it keeps track of other things like Exp, DR and money.

Here is a link to the post I suggest a score be kept depending on recently completed contracts in the Sub Fines thread: http://forum.truckingsim.com/showthread....2#pid31902

RE: Subcontractors List
Bubba:
I dont think there can be a perfect system.
In your bond rating system a company could complete 5 contracts and then start failing 50% of their contracts and still maintain a "perfect" rating of 100.
You also mentioned adding 5 points per week to every company.
So a company could wait 5 weeks , get a 100 bond rating, then fail 1 contract per week and still remain a top notch company having never completed a contract.

The point is that anything we add would be better than sub-contractor roulette which is what we have now.
